A geographical indication or GI is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin. Or , A GI tag is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation by virtue of their geographical association.
Products and dishes associated with the place possess a distinctive flavor that qualifies as pastoral, unspoiled and unpretentious. The flavors are far from being marred, are the product of a unique environment, as these are hometown specialties never taste the same when consumed outside the native place.
